SCS Schoolyard Challenge

Southern Cross Schools, in collaboration with Lowveld Trail Running, will host a trail run with a difference on the school’s unique grounds on Saturday, 29th July. Drawing inspiration from the Backyard Ultra Series, the SCS Schoolyard Endurance Challenge will follow a 3km route through Southern Cross Schools’ “bush” backyard. Whether you’re a seasoned runner eager to challenge your limits on a long-distance run or a newcomer looking to embrace the thrill of trail running, this event promises to be a fun-filled adventure you won’t want to miss.

The challenge is all about getting outdoors and celebrating the school and its environment. The run will be the highlight of a festive family morning. Spectators can cheer on the runners at the starting and finishing area, while additional entertainment will keep spirits high throughout the run. Food, drinks, and snacks will be available for purchase, and a supervised children’s play area will be provided at the pre-school. Enjoy the lively atmosphere with the SCS drummers, live music, bush walks around the property, and more. Additionally, classrooms throughout the school will be open for visitors to explore.

All funds raised will support Southern Cross Schools’ PTA projects, including the renovation of netball courts, maintenance and improvement of sports fields, and the construction of change rooms at both facilities.
